Back in Ring's End, Bernie and Kathleen were consumed with wishing Elizabeth would come back home.
You used to have that dream where you'd meet her and say, oh my dad's gone.
People around the country were talking about the case including a young woman called Mary Duffy who lived in Castlebar in Mayo.
Mary was one of seven siblings and her little sister Anne was the same age as Kathleen at the time, only 14.
Mary was fourth in the family, fourth eldest, yeah.
I was the youngest of seven.
As you know, Elizabeth's family have never spoken publicly about their story until this series.
Mary Duffy's family have also rarely spoken.
But now, Mary's youngest sister Anne is also breaking the silence that she has held for the last 49 years.
She's doing it because she knows the Plunketts still have unanswered questions and she wants to help them if she can.
Like Kathleen, Anne's memories are of a big sister that looked out for her.
Oh, Mary, she was lovely.
She was always buying things for me and she was really, really good-hearted.
The Duffies were a farming family.
I remember when we were out in the hayfield and there was the little baby frogs and Mary caught the little baby frog and she put it down my back.
She was always character-like.
She would always make you happy.
On Sunday 19th of September, Anne has a particular memory of Mary.
I remember Mary coming in and I can still see her coming in the back door from meth on a Sunday and it was the Independent she had.
That day, the Sunday Independent ran an article about Elizabeth.
