They still sometimes think of Russia as a communist country.

Not at all.

Russia has moved in the pendulum to the very right.

So Russia can be compared today with some ultra-right political parties in Europe.

And this is where there is an element of sympathy between them.

There is an element of sympathy with Mr Trump as well, given his populist agenda.
