I'm so glad you brought that up, Russ, mainly because it gives me a chance to get off this particular stat in the Mark Grody.
He deserved better award.
This man is making a push to be the winner for the season because he had a game against the Detroit Tigers in which he went three for five and he scored three runs.
and he had that game, right?
And you're thinking, that's a good game, right?
What you need to understand, full context, in the other 21 games, this man who's batting .280 and has a .362 on-base percentage has played.
In the other 22 games, he has scored one run.
His teammates do not want to drive him.
Russ, have you ever seen anything as crazy as that?
No, that's a crazy stat, and it's one I knew before we talked about it today.
The Kansas City Royals issues have always been โ it's similar to the Pittsburgh Pirates in, like, we know their pitching is always going to be decent.
Can they score enough runs?
And they have this top five player in baseball in Bobby Wood Jr.,
But he can't do it all himself, right?
It's not like basketball where one guy determines so much of your success.
You have 26 guys on a roster.
You have nine guys that are in the field at a time.
And so Bobby Wood Jr.
can be a 950 OPS guy and have 200 hits, 30 homers, and drive in 100, and probably score 100 runs, and the Royals could be amazing.
