I think that this is one of those news items that Bears fans will hear right now, and this will receive, I would think, 100% approval.

And that is that the Chicago Bears have picked up the fifth-year option of right tackle Darnell Wright.

Darnell Wright, who probably right around the corner for him, could be still an extension to keep him around into the next several years.

This is what we call, ladies and gentlemen, a Ryan Poles draft success.

He was the number 10 overall pick.

in the year 2023, and there was some anger in that draft because the Bears did decide to bypass on Jalen Carter, and I don't know where we are at the moment with Jalen Carter out there.

Are people still pissed off that the Bears did not go get the dominant defensive lineman?

I think things like this, picking up Darnell Wright's

Fifth-year option, being All-Pro.

I think he was second-team All-Pro last year.

A player who, under the tutelage of Dan Rochar, seems to have taken giant steps from the beginning of training camp to the end of the year.

Also, the decision to punch that option for the fifth year and get him here for 2027, also, we call that a formality.
