Anybody that is starting right now for the Cubs need you badly because of all the injuries.
There are 10 Cubs pitchers from the 40-man roster that are on the injury list, and we don't need to go through the litany of them.
So it just becomes of premium importance that these guys succeed when they get their turns.
In that Saturday game, that's the Carson Kelly day, his home run.
He could be a candidate for MVP of the series, but he comes forward to win.
Jamison Tyone goes six innings, allowed one run on five hits, struck out four, did walk three, got up two.
Craig got him to 100 pitches.
That's what he needed.
He needed six innings.
He needed him to max out, and he did.
And Tyone early in the game, you get nervous about him early, gives up a couple of hits in the first.
In the second, he did allow the home run to Mark Vientos.
He does like his solo home runs.
We all know about that.
But then in the third inning, he faces the minimum and then kind of cruised after that and fought through some early stuff to keep the Cubs in a position to win, and he looked good.
So I am going with...
the hipster answer of Jamison Tyone as my MVP for the Cubs series.
I mean, I think you got the right position and picture.
I just think you went a little too early with who you selected.
It's got to be Caleb Philbar.
