They were going to have to get runners in from third with less than two outs because they just didn't have a lot of power.
They had some speed, but I wouldn't say it was an elite speed team.
So they really had to pay attention to details.
I think last year it's safe to say that they did so well in 24 that maybe they took some of those things for granted, and they prematurely graduated themselves to the next level offensively, and they just weren't the next level offensively.
I mean, if they repeated last year what they'd done in 2024, they would have been just fine.
And so I think what's missing is maybe an identity.
I mean, there's enough younger players and enough players from other organizations that have come in.
I don't think there's a chemistry issue.
I don't think there's a coaching issue.
But I do think from the player standpoint, there's just maybe an element of paying attention to the little details or this is the type of team that we are.
It's been really interesting doing games of Haas this year because he brings up things on the air and off the air about.
you know, the many reasons why they were successful.
And one of them was, I mean, they really identified what type of team that they were and they would play games within games.

And if you're going to go up there and try and score seven runs and hit four home runs against Chris sale, that's just not going to work.
There would be a strategy within a greater strategy.
Like, let's see how many right-hand batters can drive the ball to the right side against Chris Sale.
Let's see if we can take certain pitches away from him.
And even if we make an out, let's see how many balls we can hit hard to the opposite field.
