And what's true about that is all the haters out there that are going to hate on your book, what they're really saying, they're saying to themselves in the mirror.
If they say, who does this guy think he is?
He thinks he's hot shit writing this.
Like, what does he think he is?
The second coming of Albert Einstein?
What they're really saying, what that translates to is why the hell haven't I got off my ass and executed my book?
Between 55 and 55,000 and 60,000.
I got, I didn't know what the hell I was doing.
I got no royalty.
I was, I felt so I was going to self publish and I felt so thankful that Karen introduced me to a publisher who wanted to take me on.
There's no royalty at all.
So the economics of writing, who was the publisher real quick?
It's Dunham books.
And the economics of writing a book, unless you get an advance, if you get an advance, so the thing is, you write the first book, if you wanna make money on your book, you write the first book, make it successful, so you get a big advance on the second book.
Because now, there is a lot of interest in what will be my second book.
And I will get a big advance on that, because I've proven that I can sell 50,000 plus copies of a book.
But the first book, and I'm gonna be totally honest, I spent a million dollars of my own money.
On what?
it came down to uh well production costs so i i went through three editors before i finally found one that worked okay that i worked well with excuse me um i spent money on uh the graphic design all that the actual mechanics of getting the book you know on to you know made into an audio book and everything like that but the biggest the biggest outlay of expense is advertising marketing
So, that's where the bulk of the million dollars went.
