I think that in one way you have to be sympathetic to people who are disengaging because it's like, you know, there's kind of systems that are trying to get you to do that and are quite skilled.
It's working.
It's working, exactly.
But in another, yeah.
You have to fight against it.
Yeah, you have to fight against it.
And that's not to say you need to read every bit of news every day, but...
I think being aware of what's happening in the wider world, you know, we can't just turn in on ourselves and not pay attention.
Like that is, it's very dangerous.
I mean, I wouldn't say I'm taking a break.
I'm going back to Lebanon.
next uh in june anyway to report for the irish times so people can read my reporting from there yeah i'll continue doing news reporting but i think for a book now i yeah i'll i'll leave it for a while until i have something i think is really important to write about but i do think this book honestly i'm not saying this just to make people read it i do think that actually the you know
For me, I think the idea is very important.
It's a book about love, but it's also about the dangers of dehumanization.
And it's also about the need for connection, the need to stay attached and not detach.
And it's a book also to remember, and this sounds very basic, but often it's not.
It's a book to remember that people exist at the center of geopolitics.
And that's really important.
I hope people will take that away from it.
