Yeah, it fits into that pattern.
It does happen after that.
Yeah.
And they say that they were aware of the story, but it wasn't really on there.
It was something that was happening to American diplomats in another part.
It didn't feel like something that was going to affect them.
It wasn't on their minds.
Certainly, that's one of the things that's come up.
People who question it have come up with, in terms of what is the criteria for this, like what are the symptoms, what's the criteria that means you've got Havana syndrome or something else?
and um some people have said so what because i think initially they say where were you what were you doing and and if you weren't a spy or a diplomat then they say you can't have havana syndrome right and then other people will say but there is no illness in the world that you have to have been doing a particular job in order to be diagnosed as it so when did this
Yeah.
And I think even right from the start, then, there is a tension within the story between the people who believe that they are the sort of target of some terrible new weapon and the people who, a lot of them really top, you know, the ambassador, this very senior senator,
who happened to be in Cuba at the time, and who were just kind of urging caution, just take a minute, let's try and weigh it up, because being a CIA agent is both being an operative on the ground and also there are others who are analysts and they weigh it all up and you might not have proof, but on the balance of probability.
And there's those on the other side who are incredibly senior, incredibly experienced, just saying there are huge consequences of pointing the finger here geopolitically.
It's a big claim.
Let's just take a minute to try and work out what might be going on.
And the people who feel like they're on the front line of this and who are the targets for whom this is just not happening fast enough.
You know, that people on the ground are in danger.
You're not moving quickly enough.
And you can kind of see it from both sides, I think.
