What was his injury?
Well, he had a problem with his navicular in his foot.
And so they thought even at the early stage of his career that he wasn't going to be able to play.
And then they built a little orthotic for him, which was really uncomfortable.
He pretty much played the rest of his career in pain because of that.
And he just said that, look, you know, suffering is part of it all.
He was an extraordinary athlete, an extraordinary athlete that he was still able to do what he did under that sort of suffering and pain.
