I mean, it might be the chalkiest pick possible, but people talk about him last year.
Like it was like not that good of a year.
Like he didn't lead the league in OBP walks.
He led the league in stolen bases.
Yeah.
Like that's crazy.
921 OPS and 43 homers.
And it just, it still didn't feel like it was his best.
Like it felt like you could see more out of Juan Soto.
And to me,
Maybe you need to see more out of Juan Soto for him to win the MVP in the NL with what Shohei does.
It almost feels like a useless conversation because for Shohei Otani to be the MVP, he kind of just needs to be good at both.
Like if he's valuable at both, like to me, it's hard for a guy doing one, even if he's incredible to surpass it.
So he probably is going to need to have a better year than he did last year to win the MVP.
But the Mets paid this guy $765 million to be an MVP.
He is going to get one for the Mets at some point, if not multiple.
I mean, maybe most baseball fans would think it's going to be after Shohei Otani regresses or retires or limits himself to just hitting it as a DH or whatnot.
But I think Juan Soto has a chance to do it this year.
He's so young.
He's in the prime of his career.
