And, you know, right now it does not represent them doing their best to address climate change or even meeting the targets that they themselves have set.
I don't mean to cut across, but that's actually not how climate targets are designed.
Climate targets are designed with the acknowledgement that all of us in all of our different countries have a responsibility to mitigate or to cut down our emissions by a certain amount.
And it's not actually just lofty goals that the government is trying to reach.
Our targets are actually not very ambitious at all.
We are not meeting targets that are not even ambitious.
Even if we were meeting those targets, it actually wouldn't be enough to be doing our fair share.
So, no, it's not that we're not meeting targets that we've said that are ambitious.
We're actually not meeting the bare minimum that we could possibly do.

But I will also say it is impacted by climate change.
I mean, saying that this is not climate change, of course, this is not the worst impact of climate change.
And we're not feeling the worst impact of climate change in Ireland at the moment.
And it's, of course, not to, you know, trivialise the impacts that are being felt elsewhere, especially in the global south, that are, you know, much more significant, as you're saying.
But at the same time, you know, it is impacted by climate change.
