Only five hours into his next role with the Navy, he believed that he had detected an enemy submarine nearby.

He then ordered his crew to spend the next 68 hours engaged in combat, detonating 37 bombs at the supposed submarine.

It was then later discovered that this alleged submarine was actually a magnetic deposit that was already known to the Navy.

Most of his crewmates laughed it off and then chalked it up to bad luck on his first day.

But only a month later, he fired on some Mexican islands in an unauthorised training exercise.

It led to a diplomatic incident and his removal from that role within the Navy.

His superior officer wrote, Consider this officer lacking in the essential qualities of judgment, leadership and cooperation.

He acts without forethought as to probable results.

Recommend a duty on a large vessel where he can properly be supervised.

It's in kindergarten when the naughty boy is placed next to the best student and suddenly they're responsible for him.

For real?

Yeah.

I did not have that outcome.

I don't know this boy that was sat next to me in kindergarten.

But I just want to say at a feminist level, I think there's an important point to be made that at the youngest of ages, women are taught to be responsible for the behaviour of men.

Like, I think that is something to note that is kind of aside from the point, but I'm really glad we took that little trip.
