Yeah, obviously expansion was looming and it was coming and we didn't have a ton of information as the season ended.
But I think throughout my conversations and just how I felt with the organization, with the city, with my team, I was pretty confident that I wanted to end up in Vancouver again, if that was a possibility and if CARA would have me back.
And so once the season ended, we were able to figure out more information, had more conversations with CARA and
I was pretty confident that I wanted to stay in Vancouver, so very happy to be here.
Yeah, I mean, there were a ton of growing pains just being an expansion franchise.
And I think that Seattle probably experienced very similar.
And I'm sure other expansion teams moving forward will kind of have to endure.
But I think what kept everybody grounded and what kept everybody really in it was just the love and the passion from the community and the passion that we had within the organization.
You know, there were bumps and there were hiccups, but I think we really kept each other accountable.
And we just had like a really great year, really great time as people and individuals.
So I really love the direction that our organization is going.
Yeah, I'm sure that it was very interesting because knowing that expansion was coming, we knew that this team wasn't going to be the same one moving forward.
And I think that that added a little bit of complexity to it.
But it did give us another motivation because at that point, we weren't necessarily going to spoil anybody's season or anybody's run.
literally for the opportunity for this franchise to have the first overall pick so it did give us something to play for and i think that although we knew that the team would probably look a lot different everybody really rallied around and it became a source of pride for us and so to be able to say that we we won the gold plan was pretty awesome
And I think that it became even more apparent this year with more teams.
I think in previous years with just the six teams, it didn't necessarily work out, I think, the way that everybody had hoped because there was a couple of teams that were clearly at the bottom before.
