They're not digging in your wallet, checking your license to see if you're a donor.
It is their personal responsibility and mission to save their patient's life.
They don't want to lose a patient and have a patient go on to be a donor.
After they've done absolutely everything they can.
So really, you know, understanding the process that you actually have to be in the hospital on a ventilator to be a donor kind of really debunks that myth.
And then just knowing, you know, the hypocritical and really the focus of the health care team is you and you alone.
They don't want to have to call us because to that to them, it means they failed.
So it's really, really rare and just makes that,
you know, if you think about it as a funnel, it makes that opportunity to donate and that number of organs available so rare.
Susan and I are so focused on addressing some of these myths and getting as many people as possible to register and check that box because that will make
you know, that potential higher to save more lives because it's such a, you know, you're truly a hero if you get to be an organ donor because it is so, so extremely rare.
And a lot of the families we work with, it provides them so much healing and comfort to know something good came out of their tragedy and the loss isn't just a loss.
