Well, I mean, it depends on what day of the week you're asking them that question, right?
Two days of ES today, not so much.
And I got to say, I mean, it was quite the gut punch yesterday.
So right now you have to give Canuck fans a little bit of grace, a lot of hurt feelings, a lot of anger and frustration, you know, and some jealousy, to be honest.
Well, I mean, it's funny because leading into yesterday, we had talked a lot about how, hey, picking third in this year's draft is not a bad spot to be.
There could be a lot of changes in terms of where guys are ranked.
You guys have kind of gone through it.
As much as it seems like McKenna is going to go first, there is a rational argument to be had about Stenberg, maybe one of the D-men.
So there could be a world here where the Canucks get the guy they wanted all along at number three.
And with that being a possibility, it's not the worst spot to be in.
But part of it also is...
the connection just never won the draft lottery right and i think that what people want to feel like sometimes is being a winner having that opportunity to have the first overall pick but you guys are right it's one of those drafts where there's a lot of variance and i i've spoken to a number of different scouts and even some directors across the national hockey league and i've been stunned at how much variance i see in terms of who the top d-men is for a lot of guys
how they view Stenberg, how they view Caleb Malhotra, and even in some ways how guys view Gavin McKenna.
So it's really hard to get consensus in terms of who truly is the best D-man, who should go number two, and is McKenna even the top prospect, depending on which team picks first overall.
I knew there were a couple of teams that would not have taken McKenna.
Now, I have no idea what the Leafs are going to do here with Shaika and Matt Sundin now being in charge, but it's one of those drafts where it's really difficult to get a proper consensus on who's going to go first, second, and third.
Well, I heard you guys talking about Carson Carls quite a bit.
I love Carson Carls, man.
Like, that guy, I know he's a left-hand shot and the righties end up going a bit higher.
