And, you know, I'm already seeing Duncan, the chef, and others texting in and coming up with trade proposals potentially and perhaps even ideas of collusion as well with guys wanting to play on the same team and whatnot.
But that was pretty earth-shattering news, hockey-wise, when the captain of a team, especially a team that's a storied, original six franchise like the Red Wings.
That's led by Steve Eiserman as well, that he says, no mas, I want out.
It doesn't matter where you're from.
You can't miss the playoffs 10 years in a row and expect people to be okay with it.
And I know it's been reported that Larkin and Eisman may have a bit of a frosty relationship as well, and they may not always see eye to eye.
So there's more to it here than...
the point of having missed the playoffs 10 years in a row you could talk yourself into that Detroit is close with the amount of talent they have the assets that they hold that once it clicks they could be a very sustainable contender like it could all come together in that sense but it's always it's instructive to through the conversations we have locally here especially in light of Quinn Hughes wanting out now wanting to play in Vancouver and sometimes you have players that are from different cities different countries they have different desires there's nothing you can do they may want to go anyways and
But you can have a player that's from your own backyard.
And if you lose 10 years in a row that way, they may not want to stay there anyways.
There is no guarantee of you getting a player who's okay with losing, even if you grew up a Canucks fan or grew up here in Vancouver.
Winning is what matters ultimately.
And where the Canucks are at, it's going to take some time.
But this whole idea of you're going to have players that are local products and they're going to be happy to be here no matter what, that has a shelf life.
Eventually, success has to happen.
And that's where rebuilds are so, so complicated.
Because there is a right time in pushing your chips in.
You can't do it too soon.
