William Hill Premiership match away to Celtic on Sunday the 10th of May.
This follows discussions between the two clubs failing to reach agreement on the ticketing arrangements for the match and Celtic notifying Rangers that Celtic is not in a position to allocate any tickets to Rangers for visiting supporters for the match.
An SPFL spokesman added saying the SPFL board will now appoint a subcommittee to consider Rangers' request for a determination under SPFL rule I-27.
01419511025 get your thoughts in now what about Ryan who's a Rangers fan in Drumchapel up first Hiya how you doing guys?
Are we not going a bit far there, Ryan, in talking about deduction of points?
The SPFL have come out, they've put out a statement, they said that they will essentially appoint a subcommittee, they will be mediators, and we'll see where we go from there.
Is that not the best course of action, rather than to be instantly trying to take points off of teams?
Well, the thing is Celtic, from Celtic's statement, what they're saying is that they're looking out for the safety of their supporters.
Rangers have said in their statement that what they've done since that violence took place in the last Old Firm game is that they, instead of looking at a collective group, they have looked to find and punish the individuals that were involved in crimes that were committed that day rather than punishing a full group who...
Some may be guilty of things, some may not be guilty of things.
So Rangers' view of it is looking at the Union Bears and anyone else that was involved in the violence and looking at actual individuals, whereas Celtic are looking to put a blanket ban on the supporters group from entering Celtic Park.
Despite the fact that it's my understanding that around 1% of the allocation that Rangers would be getting for Celtic Park for this game would involve supporters that are part of the Union Bears group.
We've heard that score.
There is a point made by Rangers in their statement of there being a sporting imbalance if Rangers supporters aren't allowed inside Celtic Park that for the three prior league games this season there have been a set number of away fans.
Do you see that as a sporting imbalance if there were to be no Rangers fans at the game at Celtic Park which could be crucial in the title race?
Well, thank you to Ryan.
What about Charlie giving the Celtic perspective?
What do you make of it, Charlie?
Hello, Charlie.
I don't think they're concerned that all of it would go to the Union Bears.
