I'm surprised we don't see it more often, like out of position or whatever.
But he'd been really fast that weekend, but it had been a messy race from his side.
And there have been some moments this year where generally he's been clearly the faster Cadillac driver, but he's also had a couple of...
what I would say like needless setbacks at times.
And I think part of that comes from the kind of, not desperation, but the hung... He is... I actually had quite a good chat with Checo just casually on Thursday in Monaco for 20, 30 minutes.
And he's so...
He's so fired up by this comeback.
He's chasing something so important to him in what he's doing right now that if he sees kind of some things there for him to grab that represents a bit of an overachievement with Cadillac, even a minor one, I think he's going to go for it.
So I think he's right at the hyper end of what his level of aggression is.
And not in a bad way.
I'm not saying he's driving dirty or being stupid or anything like that, but...
He's a driver that really, really, really wants to make something happen this year.
And that might bite him at times, but I think that will also drive the really good peaks.
So the basic version of that, to answer the question, is very, very much at the front of the upper midfield as a driver this year, even though the machinery is leaving him at the other end of the midfield.
Mercedes nailed its tyre prep and Kimi Janssen did an absolutely outstanding job.
Phenomenal, struggled on Friday.
It all looked, all those pre-event predictions that Ferrari would be favourites, the smaller turbo, the low speed.
advantage of that car the drivability the responsiveness Lewis in a happy place with the car Charles Leclerc was being good at Monaco it all seemed to be lining up that way McLaren were lost Red Bull has seemed to be close enough but not quite in the ballpark and Mercedes was struggling with rear tyre temps but overnight work back at Brackley Friday night in the simulator
managed to sort out the mechanical balance, soften the car a bit, got the tyre prep all sorted.
Add on top of that, Antonelli, you know, beautifully sorted in terms of his understanding of the sliding with these tyres, how to fire up on the preparation lap, nailed the prep laps, put it on pole, and then absolutely metronomic in terms of perfect starts, perfect execution, and the race pace was there, you know, class of his own.
