are that good.
It's just crazy to see what the Colorado avalanche are doing to a team that can bully you in a series that can score in a series that can defend in a series.
And still the Colorado avalanche are finding a way to make this look almost pedestrian.
uh well i mean it's funny i i referred to it off the top of the show yesterday as they pulled the uno reverse card uh on the colorado avalanche because colorado had chased jesper walsh that out of the net went to the backup that didn't work out and then they kind of returned the favor in game three these are two teams each with you know two-headed monsters in the crease and so
I think that you know Jared Bednar is one of the things I love about covering certain coaches there's a handful in the NHL who are just brutally honest and you can tell what they're saying to you is what they just came from the room saying to their players right a lot of coaches treat the you know the dressing room like it's a
You know, it's sanctimony.
Like, we will not let you in there.
Jared Bednar is not like that.
He'll go tell a guy he wasn't good enough, and then he'll walk out in front of the media and tell the media that that guy wasn't good enough, right?
So he had thought that Scott Wedgwood had started overplaying the puck, being a little bit too aggressive.
He thought that cost him, and he thought that the timing of the goals made Game 3 look a little worse than...
than it actually was so we wanted you know to get a goaltender to go in and settle things down that's exactly what Mackenzie Blackwood did and it's his crease now going forward until you know make no mistake about it he'd have be Jared Benner would be more than comfortable going back in the other direction but this is the way it goes with both these teams whichever player is going to grab the crease they're going to hold on to it until they lose it
I mean, if he's not setting up that tying goal in the third period the way that he does, just out skating a guy, getting a little bit of an edge, laying a perfect backhand pass right to the wheelhouse for a one-time goal, I'd agree with you.
And, you know, I'm a big believer in, you know, when it comes to goaltenders and defensemen, right?
Like there's only...
I think certain goaltenders get overplayed.
And the belief is, well, Marty Brodeur used to do it.
And I always think Marty Brodeur was a unicorn.
Like, he was one guy who could handle it.
I don't think other players can.
