Some people think that we're providing a rescue dose of glucagon, which is how it's delivered today.
And if you have a severe low, bam, we give you a whole bunch of glucagon.
And nothing could be farther from the truth.
The intent is that we give you a little bit of insulin,
a little bit of glucagon to really keep your blood sugar as close to stable as we possibly can, rather than a rescue dose of glucagon, which is something very different.
And, you know, the company was originally founded on this concept of biohormonal.
Interestingly, when Ed started working on it back in about 2003,
CGM didn't even exist.
And the concept of automated insulin delivery really didn't exist.
So Ed was, you know, a very early pioneer in stating, you know, what the AID world was ultimately going to be and looking into the future.
Um, what happened was that over the years of developing this product, two things happened.
The first is that we didn't originally have a glucagon candidate that we
you know, could be, could be successful in this product.
And the second is that we did clinical trials on an insulin only version of our system, found out how amazingly it worked and really felt that we couldn't withhold that from the market.
So for that reason, we chose to, um,
to release the insulin-only candidate.
But now the world's completely different.
We have licensed a glucagon candidate that's shelf-stable, pumpable, human glucagon.
And we now feel that for the very first time, we're in charge of getting this hormonal system out to the market where we sort of have all the pieces that we need now.
Yeah, absolutely.
