And then he said, in his mind, he thought, if I should, by some miracle, survive this.
I'm gonna live my life turning every moment into an infinity.
Mind-blowing, right?
So two of the six men in that group, it broke them.
They were insane for the rest of their lives.
Dostoevsky, he survived it psychologically, and it deepened him enormously.
And he wrote through other characters, he wrote about that experience.
