Like, what would be, like, something that, like, okay, just let's drill down to, like, this week's opponent type of thing that the data would show us?
All right, so let's apply this to why are the women β why is our women's team β I know what people have said.
It's our collegiate system.
Why our women's team is so much better.
We had a high-level league.
It may not have been professional.
Right now it is.
Now they can be paid.
But we had a high-level league where they could actually play, where other countries just didn't value the women's sports.
They're starting to value it, and they're taking their model of the club system, and they've now got club sports because β
guess what everyone found out wow there's money to be made on women's sports huh maybe we should maybe we should give a crap and and try at this and so you know is is the data uh going to prevent them because i would assume soccer carries the same importance in on the female side as it does on the male side everywhere else in the world where soccer we've got so many more sports here in america our talent pool isn't you know first choice isn't soccer right
Okay, and then the men hopefully closing the gap.
I know that's one of the reasons why the MLS was created was because we realized, oh, we don't have a high-level league here to keep our players playing.
Yes, our very best would go over and play in Europe or something like that, but we didn't have the quantity of players.
We didn't have the depth of players, which is something you need.
There might be a guy that you would identify right now as like he's a talent, but he's rough around the edges.
He needs a place to polish up and perfect it.
He didn't have a place to go.
He wasn't good enough to go overseas, and so maybe go play another sport or be left behind.
The MLS now gives him a place to apply his traits and get better, for lack of a better term.
