And right now, he's a guy that you can leave inside when you kick Chris Jones out on third downs.
And that was the thing that Ryan Nutt mentioned today that I thought was my big takeaway from what they did on the defensive line, period.
I mean, their third down performance last year was abysmal.
I mean, you could say that the reason why they were as bad as they were last year in 6-11.
I mean, and they had the one against the Chargers in week one.
There was one at home that they gave up that was just absolutely atrocious.
Get those three third down conversions that were all like third and 15s that you should not be giving up.
And this team, like I said, I mean, that was three wins that easily they lost on third downs last year.
And this is where you kind of factor in our Mason Thomas, too, which is that you've got three guys, and I'm going to include Chris Jones in this conversation, but you've got Jones, you've got Woods, you've got Thomas.
Of those three guys, you've got a combination that, hey, if it's Jones and Woods that can draw double teams,
And they're getting pressure off of other guys.
And now you have somebody on the field that could actually beat a single team, which they couldn't do last year.
I mean, that was the problem, is that even though Chris Jones was still drawing double teams, they didn't have anybody else could beat anybody one-on-one.
So now, I mean, if Woods, if Thomas, if one of these guys can win some one-on-ones and they get pressure on the quarterback...
