I think you guys are going to be fine.
So let's look at this scenario of what Toronto potentially could do.
So what are their needs?
They need to pacify Austin Matthews.
They need somebody to play with him for a long period of time.
He needs a wingman now that he no longer has Mitch Marner.
So who fits that?
most appropriately in the short term.
Not five years from now, not three years from now, but tomorrow and the next year.
Because his contract's going to be ending soon.
So what's going to convince him?
Who's ready to play now with Auston Matthews and can play a more complete game on a line with him going into next year?
The answer is Ivan Stenberg.
At this time, he is...
more ready to play with Austin in that scenario, in that situation, than Gavin McKenna is.
I'm not saying that McKenna isn't going to be a better offensive player long-term, but the Toronto Maple Leafs management needs a win right away.
And part of it is to get the best player that they possibly can, but the other factor you have to look at is how do they retain their talent
top two players, offensive players in Matthews and Nylander and keep them happy.
Well, number one thing you can do is make Auston Matthews happy.
But then you also have a Swedish, you know, top end person in Matt Sundin who's going to be able to mentor Stenberg in that respect.
