Government doesn't subsidize the cost of televisions.
What's happened?
You can go to Walmart right now for $150 and walk out of there with a 43-inch television.
It may not be the best one, but it'll work.
You can watch whatever you want to watch on it.
Government subsidizes education.
Government subsidizes healthcare.
Government subsidizes housing.
Government subsidizes, in many cases, in some cases, food.
And what are we seeing?
We're seeing the cost of those things through the roof.
the golden rule you want to make the cost of something skyrocket have government just start printing money you know making it rain there you go free money for you free money for you and you and you and you and you as well it's like oprah you get a subsidy you get a subsidy you get but the subsidy doesn't do anything a the money's basically not real and b what the government does at that point in time is they basically set the floor of the market hey this is what it's going to cost that minimum
You know, you have an apartment building, let's say with, I don't know, 100 units in it, right?
One tenant, one landlord owns the entire building, 100 units.
And he blocks off 10 of them for affordable housing, right?
Let's say he's charging everybody in that building $600 a month for an identical unit, 600 bucks a month, one bedroom apartment, 100 units in the building, right?
ten of those units are now earmarked for affordable housing and the government decides we're gonna give you a thousand dollars if you're in you know you're getting your housing subsidized we're gonna give you a thousand dollars to spend on housing guess what the cost of that unit now is in that building thousand bucks why because the government's giving people free money and if they price out somebody who's not getting their apartment subsidized they know the government will just subsidize it with somebody else and they'll get that thousand from the government
Don't you see how this is a problem?
Healthcare, same deal.
And we'll touch on that in a second, you know, with the shutdown looming.
