And so what I did, I did a mind map.
before I met my chief exec to say how I would take the investors and people forward.
And the very first thing I put on the mind map was speak to specialist people.
That's the first thing I put.
And what that meant was that I wanted to
speak to specialist people in the company and they would be the people that would deliver the investor and people in that department.
So what I did there was I broke the big tasks into smaller steps and we had 10 ways that we were going to achieve that investors and people.
Step two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10.
And being able to visualise the timelines and dependencies is actually crucial.
What I find was very helpful was it helped with the organisation, it helped with the company departments and services.
But what was really important when I had these people that were specialists, I met with them once a week to track their progress.
Can you see how the project with big tasks into smaller steps, specialised people and timelines helps with the organisation and tracking who's responsible and who's accountable in a timely manner.
The third one that I'll share and we've gone into this one about career planning.
Now your career planning might be for you and it might be your goal.
My goal could be the key word in the middle of the page.
And your branches could be the skills that you need to develop.
Opportunities.
perhaps to do job rotation in another department.
Another branch could be help with leadership and decision making.
Another branch could be your longer term direction.
