Yeah, I mean, this is obviously just something that you β
first of all, never want to hear, right?
I mean, that a player is impacted by a situation like this.
And certainly the first and most important thing, like you said, is that he gets healthy and is able to live a normal life, much less worry about the football side of things.
I think that with him, Amad Hardy was set to be probably the best running back in America.
I don't think that's much of an exaggeration.
I had him sort of on my dark horse Heisman list as somebody who could push for 2,000 yards if Missouri was able to have a good season.
And I think that this whole roster was kind of built around what he could do.
And if he's not in the lineup for any extended period of time,
I mean, it is a damper, right?
They bring in Austin Simmons at quarterback.
I think that that's going to give them a chance to be a little bit more versatile in the passing game.
But, I mean, I think that's a huge part of the sell of bringing in Simmons was that he could run play action off of Ahmad Hardy.
Yeah, I mean, I think that, you know, you never quite know what the scene could have been with him.
But, you know, it's hard not to see this as a potential one or two game swing if Hardy's out of the lineup for even, let's say, half the season.
So, again, football is secondary in this moment, but I think that it really does have a huge damper on what the season could have been.
Well, I think that the thing is, right, like you said, in a 12 team or, you know, if we get 16 or 24, like, I don't think that it's unreasonable with what Eli Drinkwits has shown to this point that they should be in that conversation.
Now, it's not going to be every year, and I think that that's fine.
You kind of have to pick your years and your windows.
