I think the part that always interests me when it comes to trade deadline talk is always how do you gauge...
what certainly would value prospects bring and what other teams want, what they value, but just how you value pitching versus offense.
Because I just, I struggled to think, and I've said this a million times, Jeff, but I struggled to think of the last time at a deadline that
a position player was traded, and then that guy became a significant reason why a team either won on an extended playoff run or outright won the World Series.
I find in-season trades of position players often, I find, are not the things that push, even though right now I'm sure no one would poo-poo a position player acquisition, but it feels often it's more pitching than anything it feels like.
