When you look at the Blue Jays hitters over the years, Jose Bautista, one of them.
And now today's fans have Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
I don't think I mean, hitting the baseball has not changed that much.
I know pitchers throw nastier stuff every every year over a year.
But when you look at Vladimir Guerrero Jr., how do you think he compares to yourself or to Carlos or to Jose, you think?
I have to admit, I'm biased as well because I'm a big Carlos fan, so I totally know what you mean.
But it is fun watching the version of Vladdy today.
And before I let you go, I know you've got other things to do, but I wanted to get to
One more thing with you.
So one of the things I do for Sportsnet is I host some of the postgame shows.
So we get calls, texts, and so on from listeners, from fans.
And one of the things we hear a lot of is Vladdy, now that he has a big contract associated with him, the expectations seem a lot heightened for him.
And now once upon a time, you had that big contract.
I mean, do you feel that on a day-to-day, whether it's with expectations that you set for yourself or the team or from fans?
Before I let you go, Vernon, 2026 Blue Jays, they've scuffled a little bit, but I think we've seen maybe the 2025 version in there in the last little while.
How do you think the rest of the season might turn out?
Vernon, I appreciate this.
It was really nice meeting you.
Thank you so much.
Thanks for having me.
