It's Vernon Wells.
Vernon, thanks for doing this.
So, I have to say, this is a real treat for me, Vernon.
I, as a kid, was a big Carlos Delgado fan, and then a young Vernon Wells came along.
So, it's really cool to meet you.
How have you been doing, and do you still feel connected to the game these days?
I was going to say, the team is pretty beat up.
They might be able to use you, even if just DH-ing.
Well, it's good to see you.
I do appreciate you doing this.
So when you look at where the game is today from when you last played, 2013 was your last major league season, it kind of feels like in the last...
Every five years, almost, the game has changed to a certain extent.
And even now, I mean, even beyond ABS, beyond the pitch clock and so on.
I am curious how you've seen the game change.
I mean, pitchers go far shorter starters, bullpens are deployed more liberally.
How do you see the game having changed?
How would peak Vernon Wells view the ABS challenge system, you think?
I do.
I'm curious.
I mentioned Carlos Delgado earlier and you're a prolific hitter as well.
