You're playing today.
I remember hearing as well that, and this might have been a couple of years ago from another catcher, I believe it was Mitch Garver, name escapes me exactly who, but that the preparation for catchers before start days is like taking the SATs every single day.
So what do you think of that?
Is that true?
Is that difficult, knowing that you're not only preparing for working with that day's starting pitcher, but effectively the entire bullpen?
So how important is the relationship just from a person to person perspective between, you know, a catcher and that day starting pitcher, for example?
um you know we're just trying to guide him guide him there well you're doing a great job so far uh tell me a little bit about uh before i let you go the abs world we live in now you had some great challenges yesterday it's uh it does feel like a little it's i guess subjective is not the right word because it's a fixed zone i suppose but it's it does feel like it takes a while for everyone to adjust at their own speed whether it's a catcher or pitcher yeah i mean it's uh
in 2023 you know it's just something that you get used to and then it kind of just becomes part of it so um we're still in that learning phase right now but um it'll probably get easier and easier as we go before i let you go i uh and heard that people felt that maybe pitches at the top of the zone which are maybe traditionally had not been called strikes are still not getting called strikes but you can challenge them now right is that have you found that to be the case at all i'm just curious
