And that's what I was surprised by.

I had parents who said, well, we missed the 60s.
Some other people were doing it.
There were about five or six people in Carnaby Street.
The rest of us were just living, trying to... Bringing kids up.
Trying to survive, yes.
It's literally out of the blue, isn't it?
It just hits her.
And what I found interesting is that there is a lot of, say, navel gazing within this, in this, why does this happen?
But there's an element of acceptance of it.
And what is so startling about this is this is a book that embraces depression.
It embraces the darkness.
It says, you know, I feel very aligned to it.
This is my friend.
This suddenly becomes something that I need in a way.
And it's about grappling with this incredibly complex relationship.
Kind of takes over from her parents.
