27 months is average from diagnosis to death, usually.

And I remember thinking Dad got three extra months from the standard.

But it was January when Mum and Dad told us and

I don't think it ever really sunk in.

I'm still not sure it has sunk in, to be honest.

But my coping mechanism was to just go into research mode.

I don't know if that's like a personality thing or a journalism thing, probably a personality thing.

I read every single study that there is locally, overseas.

I knew everything about the disease and probably a little out of date information.
