I always thought she was the shampoo to my conditioner.

Oh, that's really nice.

And I've protected her through situations that didn't involve me as I thrive through friendship loyalty.

This is lovely.

I am friends with Susan, but I have a uni group and other best friends who are completely separate.

And I love that dynamic, especially in situations like this.

A couple of years ago, I was seeing a boy.

I'd love to call him Voldemort or Gollum for this dilemma, but considering I'm the adult in this situation, we'll call him Brian.

We can call him Gollum.

Let's call him Gollum.

I met Gollum through Susan as Gollum was her manager.

Right.

They weren't friends, but were colleagues who spoke often on the shop floor whilst placing broccoli and mushrooms, I guess.

Me and Gollum met on a night out and things progressed from there.

Right.

A girl we will call Helen also worked on the shop floor and eventually became really good friends with Susan.

I really liked Helen as I thought she had a good sense of humor and I could see why Susan and her got on so well.

Me and Gollum were seeing each other but never made things official as he was eight years older than me.

But regardless, I had a lot of feelings for him and ended up heartbroken when it ended.
