Why do we stop on pennies?
You give me a foreign currency and we'll smash it and see how lovely the design comes out.
Thank you very much for having me.
Okay, so I work as a site librarian at Worthing College, which is part of the Chichester College group.
And at Worthing College, I work with two library assistants, Lou and Claire, and we meet as a cross-college team regularly online too.
So it's about 15 of us all together.
What I love to do is unite books with readers and support our college mission, which is changing lives through learning.
As well as encouraging readers to read by choice, for pleasure, for learning or preparation for something,
We also do loads of things like we create displays.
We put on events like open mics.
We encourage students to enter writing and poetry competitions.
And we also work closely with curriculum staff to deliver teaching sessions on research and study skills and referencing and all sorts of things.
So it's a very varied job with opportunity to be quite serious, but also lots of space for fun and creativity as well.
Yeah, I think passionate, yeah, would describe it.
No, I think I'm passionate about young people and just about empowering young people as well.
And I know how empowering reading has been for me, you know, throughout my life.
And I just want to share that for everybody, really.
