No, it's actually crazy to think like there were women playing baseball in the late 1800s.
The first pro women's team was a team of black women in Philly.
Wow.
And they played against men's teams.
And then Vassar had a couple of women's teams that played against each other.
And it wasn't until like, I think 1930, 1931, this woman played in an exhibition game.
She struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, these giants.
And like a long story short, the men got their panties in a bunch and women were banned.
A judge banned women from pro baseball.
Shut the fuck up.
That is what resulted.
There should be like a movie about this.
No, literally.
And so, well, speaking of movie, hopefully we've all seen A League of Their Own.
Either iteration, I'll take either.
That showcased the league that popped up during World War II.
So post-banning, the men were going off to war.
All the baseball players were getting drafted.
