Now, I do get asked, a lot of people who hold on to older phones and they ask the question, what's a good phone to buy, affordable?
I don't want to spend too much.
And the question's easy to answer for Android users.
Android users, you can buy a $200 phone that is the latest version of Android and it's got all the bells and whistles and you're good to go.
And I think it's important for us to look at the age of our devices because recently we've had dramas with people being able to connect to triple zero.
So if you've got like a six-, seven-, eight-year-old phone, I would update it because you never know, it may not work when there's a triple zero call that needs to be made.
If you don't have your network and you need to camp onto another network, we've seen issues where older phones were failing to link.
But I think head that off at the pass.
If your phone is over six years old,
I think it's time to upgrade.
So if you're an iPhone user, the cheapest new iPhone you can buy is the iPhone 17E, which is $999.
If you're lucky, you can maybe see some old, find some old stock of the 16E, which the 17E replaced, of course.
And that will be, I think, $250 cheaper.
So you can probably get it for about $750.
And that's getting a new phone.
But you know what?
The other path, I think, if it has to be an iPhone, then go down the refurbished path.
There's a lot of companies that offer refurbished phones.
I have done a bit of work in the past with Mobile Guru.
