It just goes underground at different times.

And what we're seeing today is one of the themes of my book, that

This kind of hate started at the end of World War II when people returned from war feeling they'd been betrayed by their government.

And many of their ancestors feel the same way, that the government has done too much for minority groups and too little for the white Anglo-Saxon Christians who built America.

At least that's what they argue.

And so this will keep going on.

This is not a new story, an old story.

It's a continuing story.
