And I've got those images of him second base.
And don't ever forget, he set those records on a very difficult and badly kept infield at Forbes Field.
And some of those records got beat on a carpet.
And I respect those guys that did that.
But I don't know if they could have done it, beat some of his records, if they had played on the surface he played on.
And God knows, I don't know if in 17 years, if Mavs played on the carpet, he may never have made one error.
But he set some records on a very difficult infield that got broken.
But I still remember that.
the job that he did, not only behind me when I was pitching, but behind everybody.
I don't know if I'm the only one that knows this because so many people got to know him, but I just know him.
Him as a guy who was a star, a quiet star that was unbelievably respected by everybody in baseball.
The absolute professional, decent human being.
I don't know if that expression gets enough credit.
One of the most genuine, decent people I've ever known.
And I will just say it on behalf of I don't know how many people, you know, thousands and millions, whatever it is.
that have come across his presence would say the same thing.
He was decent, genuine to everybody he ran across.
I don't know if I can give him a better compliment.
Yeah, I think it does too, because it's instant.
The Yankees were supposed to crush it.
