Linda was confused and asked what the man meant by the Cavalier.

He told Linda the story about the death of the Cavalier soldier way back in the days of the English Civil War and said it had been seen a few times, although he'd never seen it himself.

Water seems to have a strange effect on paranormal phenomena.

It's often said by investigators and ghost hunters that water can act as a barrier against apparitions, stopping them from crossing it.

Whilst others say that water can act as a fuel to help spirits manifest themselves.

Whatever the case, we've heard many stories of strange sightings over water, and the next story tells of something that was not only out of the ordinary, but also quite disturbing.

A local man who we'll call Tom was out walking and had a strange experience one very cold winter's morning.

Walking alone, Tom had taken the pathway to the upper pools which fed the larger lake outside the main house.

Further up that pathway is Baggeridge Country Park.

After walking up to and around Baggeridge, he made his way back to Himley Hall and the lake, which had a stunning mist stretching out across most of its surface.

Deciding to extend his walk, he started out on a lap of the lake, which would finish up with a drink at the cafe.

Looking from the house down to the lake, Tom started from the right hand side, which would take him past the weeping willows mentioned in the previous story.

Also, as with Linda's encounter, Himley seemed very quiet on this particular day, but maybe that was down to the fact that this was a weekday and many people would be at work and children at school, but something seemed a little off.

As Tom got to the small kissing gate near the far end of the lake, he said that a very odd thing happened.

The mist which had settled on the water started to move towards him.

Yes, there was a slight breeze in the air, but it should have been moving the mist towards the house, not in the opposite direction.

As this mist started to swirl around him, it became very cold, and he felt at odds, confused, unsure of which direction to move in.
