Both Linda and her dog continued to watch as the figure turned and continued in the direction of the far end of the lake, away from the main house.
This person looked real, solid, but didn't seem to be aware of her presence.
The other strange thing Linda noticed was that there was a slight fuzziness which seemed to surround the figure, as if looking at a carb on it on a very hot day, that shimmering type phenomena.
Maybe it was a trick of the light, influenced by the water on the lake, but there was no way to explain what happened next.
That side of the lake had several weeping willow trees, and many of the branches stretched down to the water's surface, but there was a good clear view of the woods between the tree trunks and the branches.
Linda watched as the figure continued to walk along the edge of the lake, and was then obscured by one of the trees.
Just a matter of time before he appears, she thought.
But he didn't.
The figure never came out from behind the tree.
Linda stood there for a few minutes, waiting.
But nothing.
A huge wave of goosebumps washed over her body, and her dog was now barking.
Linda said that she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something very wrong, but out of sheer curiosity, she had to find out where the figure had gone.
She began to walk back towards the house with her dog, to a position which was far enough away to give her a view down the side of the lake, and the other side of the trees.
But there was no sign of the figure at all.
Linda was certain that she'd seen him, and her dog even reacted to him too.
But where had he gone?
She turned her back and continued to walk back to her car, where she saw an elderly couple getting into their car which was parked next to hers.
The couple said hello to Linda, and she said hello back.
But she then asked the couple if there had been any type of battle reenactments going on at the hall.
