We had Ian Foster in here last year, and he's another example, a bit like Shag, of a guy we had only seen from press conferences and clips.
And we met an incredibly wholesome, witty, sharp, fun, engaging, loyal guy.
And you hear all the words people are sending around them.
That was perhaps different to the image the media were projecting leading into it.
And it got really messy and really ugly.
And you're at the heart of this.
You're supporting Ian through these difficult times, I imagine.
And the other staff and everyone's kind of, if he's out, everyone's gone.
I'm not sure what the dynamic looks like.
But what can you say about that?
That whole saga, how Ian was treated, that trip to South Africa, what stands out for you as important about that time?
You mentioned depression there.
It's a door I want to open in case you're willing to walk through it because, I mean, it's everywhere in society and a lot of our listeners are dealing with it.
And I am interested if you are keen to talk about it, what you experienced, how you got out of it, where you're at now.
And it perhaps ties into what we're keen to talk about, the realities of life on the road and being away for so long.
And it's quite an isolated sort of world.
So the end comes, you're not required anymore, however you want to frame it.
That was about three years ago now.
So can you tell us about what life looked like on the outside of the All Blacks bubble after 20 years in it and then what you're doing now and what you've been building?
Yeah, what's it been like running your own operation?
