You need defensive people to deliver and you need offensive people to go out and chase and hunt.
You need both at an organization.
Now the question of how much of each is a variable.
At an agency, you need more detailed people than you need high drive.
Because agencies are all about delivery.
So you have to have more delivery than you have hunters.
You need hunters on the sales team, you need hunters on the leadership team, but you don't need hunters to deliver.
You need a lot of deliverers, gatherers, if you will, in the tribe.
So managing those people differently is...
Having plans for them and telling them what they can expect is very important to motivating people.
If they don't get enough feedback, they're going to seek it out and they're going to wonder if they're doing okay.

So I try and instigate fast feedback within the organization to motivate employees.
Good, bad, and neutral feedback.
Hey, I liked what you did on that email, Bob, but I didn't like how you worded this particular sentence.

Stephen Pope likes to have lots of spacing in his emails.
F is for fun format and keep it simple so that they can actually read your email versus paragraph form.
Those kinds of things make a lot of difference to helping and train your employees.
