And that helps with your overall ranking at the end of the day, because sales is the number one factor when it comes to ranking and price is the number one converting tool.
actual drawbacks of something like dynamic pricing.
Well, you can see here continuously lowering it can hurt your margins.
I think that's obvious.
Everyone knows that if you dynamically price, it's going to hurt your margins, right?
But then as well, doing consistent fluctuations in price can kind of erode trust within sellers, especially nowadays when we're looking at Amazon, right?
And any single person can just go to Amazon, click this little price history and Rufus will come through and be like, hey, so here is the last 30 days and the last 90 days where you can see
you know, a different pricing.
And so a lot of people have this idea that now price and changing price all the time dynamically can be a hindrance, but that's not really the case, especially if you have a product that isn't just an impulse buy type product, right?
If you have a product that can be repeatably purchased, dynamic pricing actually will work even more in your favor because the fact that people are going to be looking for when you are doing your dynamic pricing.
So this price fluctuation isn't something that I'm normally going to say is all that big of a deal.
And so dynamic pricing is, I think, the simplest when it comes to the idea of merchandising the catalog in general.
And so whenever we're looking at any form of catalog merchandising, the big aspects are there's a lot of different ways you can merchandise.
As I mentioned earlier, you can do a strikethrough, you can do a coupon, you can do a promotion, you can do subscribe and save, right?
There are a lot of these different factors.
And so breaking down that barrier of what is the best kind of merchandising is always going to be, I think, a little tricky.
And so if we're looking at Amazon, right, and we go to advertising, we will see here we have deals, coupons, price discounts, promotions, and then finally brand tailored promotions.
So these are the kind of five core ways of what you can consider to be catalog merchandising.
So how are you to choose which one to go with?
This is going to depend on a few factors.
