Even having reread it just now, I can look.
I've got the tab open.
It came out in March, 2015.
So I read it a hot minute ago and went to refresh my memory.
So I was just scribbling, I was taking quick notes on what was in there.
And then I see that he already kind of pulls out because the subtitle is Contra Alexander Wales about Harry Potter and methods of rationality.
And so I was like, well, I got to read the source material, which he also links to in the first paragraph that he's, that he's arguing against, but he pulls out all the relevant quotes.
And so I think that my, that's why I stopped taking notes.
I was like, oh, okay.
It actually just talking about different things.
Although I do have some notes in here that I'll hit, but no, we can, as far as do we need to go over the Alexander one?
Not really.
It's linked in here and the parts that are relevant are described in this post and quoted from.
So, okay.
Well, there's at least one.
In Wales's post, he says that the path that a standard story might take to show a character overcoming their flaws is to show them failing because of their flaws.
In this story, Harry rarely fails.
His single biggest organic failure was when he lost a battle to Hermione because he didn't think to consult with his soldiers and afterwards showed real growth.
In my opinion, this is the only real believable moment of character growth for him.
And my note here was like, oh, no, I disagree with Alexander Wales, whom I love dearly.
