We're not exactly sure what it is, but we're rebelling.
You know, what does Marlon Brando say?
What are you rebelling against?
And I think it was a world that was existing in America not long after the much mythologised Woodstock.
And so within the space of like less than 24 months, we've gone from Can I Take You Higher and, you know, Sly Stone and everything that was happening at Woodstock to these, you know, bomb makers.
I mean, I liked Andrew Stafford's previous book, which came out some years ago called Pig City, which was a terrific history of music in Brisbane.
And so I was curious to read this.
I thought, oh, this feels a bit like High Fidelity, Nick Hornby, the Lost in Music book by Giles, whose surname escapes me at the moment.
I read it very, very quickly.
And I thought he does what these sort of books should always do.
He had me going and pulling out records that I hadn't listened to for a very long time and putting them on and going, oh, were they that good or whatever?
So, no, I think he's done a very nice job with this book.
Yes, I'm going to go and buy one the moment we finish chatting.
I'm a big fan of Paul Williams, who, as he mentioned, was the founder of Crawdaddy magazine, and I thought that I owned and had read everything that Paul Williams has ever written, but I now discover there is a book that Paul Williams has not only written, but I don't have.
