My selection is actually a book that I saw in the window of a bookstore in Los Angeles and I thought, I'm so not going to buy this.
And I kept looking at it and then I bought it and I loved it.
because it sort of reeked of everything I thought was going to be terrible.
I'm a huge fan of The Sopranos, the TV series, but it's actually written by Michael Imparelli, who was Christopher Moltisanti in The Sopranos.
And I thought, oh, a novel.
He's just trading off the success of the TV series.
And I bought it and I just found myself totally engrossed by it.
And it's the story of a guy who's 18 years of age.
He's growing up in the outer boroughs of New York City.
He and his mum moved to Manhattan.
It's 1976 and he ends up living in the same apartment building as Lou Reed.
Oh.
