The NFL was found to be absolutely a monopoly and that they had harmed the USFL's ability to do business.
I'm going kind of deep here, but this is the last time it really got challenged.
But it basically, and they lost and they didn't have any money and they folded and nobody's messed with it since.
Because the owners have just decided it's better to just buy in to the NFL.
And the NFL quickly did what usually happens when you have those challenges.
It's what the NFL did when the AFL was challenging them.
They expanded to try to squash the opposition.
They couldn't do it.
But now we have so many teams, the money so big that they can do it anyway.
You basically want to be a monopoly on, you know, be allowed to operate and not have to adhere to all the rules that come with monopolies.
And then what you usually do with it as well, what comes with it is they say, well, you have to collectively bargain with your workforce.
So what the schools want is to be given the protection of antitrust, but not also have to collectively bargain with their workforce.
They want to continue to say that they're not a workforce.
Because when you do that, then you have to provide a safe work environment.
Which is like, they get to go, two-a-days and pads?
