You're going to cut all our programs.
We know you're not going to pay us like the football players.
Do we get to where colleges no longer have any sports other than football and basketball and the handful that break even at baseball?
Maybe a couple of women's softball programs?
Is that what college athletics ends up being?
I mean, the problem, and I talked about this with Shahan, the problem is that the money started getting big in the 80s.
Oklahoma sued and got their television rights for their football.
And then everybody else got it as that set the precedent that Oklahoma said, no, the NCAA can't just sell our rights, our football rights.
And so then that set the precedent that, OK, everybody, you own your rights.
They all tried to sell it individually.
The only school that could do it was Notre Dame.
Nobody else really had any buying power.
And so then they said, but as a conference, we can sell our conference rights and we get all the money.
None of it goes to the NCAA.
Instead of working with the NCAA and saying, listen, we should get more, we should get this year, they sued their way in, got their rights, and they took it away.
And the NCAA is run without any revenue coming in from the power football programs.
And so basically the basketball tournament funds everything that the NCAA does.
And then they have fought the NCAA every time they try to enforce the rules.
And there have been guys that were jackasses at the NCAA.
I'm not saying that they're perfect and 100% innocent.
